Pineapple, the Rich Juicy Tropical Fruit

Pineapple is one of the more popular fruits and at one time was difficult to get, but it is available all over the world today. Once you cut through the tough skin, you’ll find a yellow or white flesh that is both sweet and tart. Fresh pineapple makes a great addition to salads, especially fruit salad, or add it to yogurt or use it in a favorite smoothie recipe or grill it. Or just eat it alone as a snack!

Pineapple is a juicy tropical fruit, rich in vitamins and minerals as well as enzymes and antioxidants. It is a nutritious and delicious fruit with several health benefits, such as being an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese in addition to containing B vitamins, calcium and copper, and it may boost your immune system. Despite its sweetness, pineapple is low in calories and is also fat-free.

Like many other fruits and vegetables, pineapple contains dietary fiber, which is great for a healthy gut. But unlike other fruits and vegetables, pineapple contains a significant amount of bromelain, an enzyme that breaks down protein, which may help digestion. Bromelain is also known to have anti-inflammatory properties. And every article I read said pineapple is beneficial for a cancer prevention diet.

Since, some people with other fruit allergies may also be allergic to pineapple, keep that in mind before consuming it. In addition, according to what I’ve read, the bromelain in pineapple might interfere with medications you take, so it would be good to check with your healthcare provider before trying it. But for me, fresh pineapple fits very well into my Embracing A Healthy Immune Boosting Lifestyle program.
